The Marketing Coordinator position is responsible for building and executing marketing campaigns for the portfolio of MBA programs at the McCombs School of Business, including Full-Time MBA, Evening MBA, MBA at Dallas/Fort Worth, and Executive MBA. As a member of the MBA Marketing, Recruiting, and Admissions team, the Marketing Manager will work closely with program leadership, admissions officers, and events team members to drive leads, applications, and enrollment for the MBA programs. The Marketing Coordinator must have a passion for prospect management, email marketing, and marketing automation. Our ideal candidate is driven, meticulous, and a digital-first marketer who can execute marketing campaigns and engage prospective MBA students through their application journey. Our ideal candidate has a mix of technical, creative, and analytical skills in order to build, create, execute and analyze marketing campaigns and emails that are engaging, effective, and efficient. This role will report to the MBA Marketing Manager, who reports to the Managing Director of MBA Marketing, Recruiting, and Admissions.


Marketing Campaign Coordination & Execution

  • Develop and execute marketing and application-related campaigns, email newsletters, event promotions, and landing pages targeted to MBA prospective students, applicants, admitted students, and/or enrolled students; ensure Marketo and Salesforce protocols are being followed and McCombs brand standards are being upheld. 
  • Support creation and execution of drip and nurture email campaigns for prospective MBA students.
  • Develop/write email content and create assets for email campaigns, relevant to target audiences to drive engagement and conversions. 
  • Maintain and monitor MBA target lists/populations in Marketo and Salesforce, including prospective students, applicants, admitted students, and enrolled students for each MBA program.
  • Maintain and monitor prospective student lead scoring. 

Partner Prospect List Management

  • Manage partnership/partner event prospect lists and list purchases from end to end. Partners and list sources may include, but are not limited to, Forté Foundation, Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM), Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA), Graduate Management Admissions Search Service (GMASS), and GRE Search Service. 
  • Establish and communicate intake process for prospect lists. 
  •  Format prospect lists for upload into Marketo; ensure data is tagged for source attribution and synced correctly between Marketo and Salesforce CRM. 
  • Create targeted messaging and content to engage prospects; set up and deliver campaigns. 
  • Track performance and provide analysis and recommendations to enhance effectiveness of campaigns and evaluate success of partnerships and list purchases. 

Marketing Program Analysis, Reporting, and Optimization

  • Track, report, and analyze marketing campaign and email performance, and make recommendations for further improvement. 
  • Perform A/B testing and make adjustments, as needed, to email campaigns and nurture programs to optimize results. 
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards in Marketo and Salesforce to monitor and assess prospect pipeline through the MBA recruiting cycle. 
  • Collaborate with events team members on MBA recruiting event reporting and analysis. 

Collaboration and Team Support

  • Collaborate with Admissions & Recruiting Officers and Event Marketing/Event Management team members, on a daily basis, as part of a cohesive MBA Marketing, Recruiting, and Admissions team, collectively working to drive leads, applications, and enrollment and to meet team and program goals. 
  • Work with business partners, vendors, freelancers, student workers/interns, and/or other McCombs or UT Austin stakeholders as needed. 
  • Partner with MBA and McCombs stakeholders to improve automation and decrease manual processes. 
  • Provide support and staffing, as needed, for MBA Recruiting & Admissions events & activities and other major MBA Program Office or McCombs initiatives and events. 

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working in an email service provider or marketing automation platform to deliver marketing campaigns/emails 
  • Experience creating and writing marketing content and messaging 
  • Ability to learn new information and write/create marketing content based on that information, tailored for different target audiences and marketing channels 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to prioritize, be flexible, and execute multiple projects within established time frames and budgets. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, often-changing, deadline-driven environment. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations 
  • Proactive communicator and problem solver 
  • Positive and client-service oriented mentality 
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products 
  • Desire and commitment to learn and become an expert in Marketo and Salesforce 
  • Desire and commitment to understand higher-education recruitment and the graduate business/MBA program competitive landscape. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, advertising, or related field 
  • 3+ years of professional, related work experience 
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education and/or recruiting & admissions 
  • Experience with graduate business education 
  • Experience with HTML coding, email production, and responsive design 
  • Experience working in Marketo 
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM 
  • Experience using Canva or similar tool to design marketing materials 

Salary Range

  • $52,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Standard office conditions. 
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. 
  • Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm with some nights and weekends required, as needed for special events or projects. 
  • This is an Austin, TX-based position and is eligible for hybrid work.
