About the Panelists

Christi Mondrik, attorney, dedicates her practice to resolving state and federal tax controversies and litigation. She is board certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Mondrik has handled IRS cases involving substantial corporate, individual and estate taxes. Her state tax experience includes disputes arising under Texas franchise tax, sales and use tax, fuel taxes, severance taxes, motor vehicle sales tax, and other state taxes. Ms. Mondrik is also a CPA.


Ryan Pitylak is the CMO & Founder at ZenBusiness PBC. He is responsible for building and promoting the ZenBusiness brand to the new wave of independent workers and entrepreneurs so they can start, manage, and grow their new businesses and pursue their dreams. Ryan is the former CEO of Unique Influence, a performance digital advertising agency that was acquired by MDC Partners (NASDAQ: MDCA). Following the acquisition, Ryan served as the Head of Performance Digital at advertising agency Media Assembly where he managed a team of 100+ people across strategy, search, social, programmatic, and creative. Ryan has over 20 years of experience in the digital marketing space and is passionate about leading innovation for the industry. As speaker and contributor, he strives to get marketers to think more strategically while also taking a data-driven approach to advertising.


Erik S. Romberg is an attorney in Jackson Walker’s Austin office with a practice focused on investor representation in hedge fund and private equity fund investments, and corporate and securities matters including mergers and acquisitions; private equity and debt offerings, including venture capital, seed and angel stage financings; and public offerings. His experience includes representation of both acquirers and targets in a variety of business combination transactions, as well as issuers, underwriters, and venture capital firms in public and private securities offerings. Erik’s experience also includes advising companies and boards of directors with respect to corporate governance and fiduciary duties as well as serving as outside general counsel to many clients addressing matters such as technology licensing and employment-related issues.


About the Moderator

As the President and CEO of the Austin Young Chamber, Alyssia Palacios-Woods is dedicated to creating quality and relevant programming for the young professional workforce and representing the voice of young professionals in Central Texas. Her expertise includes organizational management, strategic planning, fund development, and communications.

Palacios-Woods received her Bachelor Degree in Communications from St. Edward’s University and her Masters Degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. During her time at St. Edward’s, she was a four-year NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Athlete.

Raised by two educators in Corpus Christi, Texas, Palacios-Woods is passionate about lifelong learning and advocating for education as a pathway to prosperity. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Capital Idea, Austin Chamber of Commerce, and her local PTA.

She is a mom of three, still plays tennis, and loves family time in the great outdoors.
