About the Speaker
Nancy Clark is the chief of staff for the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). Prior to this position she served as chief financial. She has eleven years of state experience all with TDI. Before joining the state, Nancy was an actuarial assistant and the financial manager for an actuarial consulting firm for thirteen years, where she specialized in asset adequacy analysis and reserve reporting. As the financial manager, Nancy was responsible for all financial reporting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, benefits, and facility management. Nancy also performed quality assurance and programming for the software development section of the actuarial firm.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Science and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Ethics from St. Edward’s University. In 2016, Nancy earned the St. Edward’s presidential award for leadership, academic performance, and service to the university and to the community. Nancy is an adjunct professor at St. Edward’s University. She is a Certified Government Financial Manager. Nancy is a 2012 graduate from the Texas Fiscal Officers Academy.
